There are several types of visitor visas:
Super Visa:
- Suitable for parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
- Allows you to stay in Canada for up to 2 years in one entry.
- Valid for up to 10 years.
Standard Visitor Visa:
- Eligible for others.
- Allows up to 6 months in Canada per entry.
- Can be single entry, double entry or multiple entry.
Requirements for obtaining a visitor visa:
Invitation from the host country:
The inviting party must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
Must demonstrate that they can financially support you during your stay.
Sufficient funding:
You need to demonstrate that you have sufficient funds to support yourself during your stay in Canada.
How to get a visitor visa:
- Determine which type of visa is right for you.
- Gather the required documents.
- Complete the online application.
- Pay the visa fee.
Submit biometric data (fingerprints and photo).
Wait for the visa decision. - Documents required to obtain a visitor visa:
- A valid passport.
Completed visa application form. - Passport size photo.
Invitation from the host country. - Proof of financial support.
- Medical certificate (if required).
